Hi everyone, as you can see I am new here and was hoping to get some feedback on timelines.  I just received my letter to attend the information seminar at the Vic at the beginning of August.  Just wondering what usually happens after that and of course how long everything takes.  I was refereed by my doctor in October of 2012, received my letter of acceptance in December of 2012 and now this is the first I have heard from them since then.  To say I am happy things are starting to progress would be Ann understatement.

I'm not sure if you have had your seminar yet or not.  If you haven't get your paperwork in as soon as you can.  I went to the seminar on July 23rd.  I brought my paperwork back the next day and I was in to see the Nutritionist and Nurse the very next week as there was a cancelation.  I have my other 2 appointments for the end of August and am starting the craving change course in August as well.  Start tracking now on My Fitness Pal. They said usually after your paperwork is in it could take about a month to get your appointments, then they see you 3 months after and possibly you could be refered to the surgeon then or they will see you in another 3 months. Good Luck with everything.

What is the Craving Changes course?

Craving Change is a set of 4 evening classes that are led by the Dietician and Psychologist. There is a manual that you can google called "Craving Change". It helps you understand Cravings and gives you suggestions on coping strategies for dealing with cravings. I think I went on 4 Thursday evenings that were spread out over about 6 weeks. I found it very valuable and it gave me a chance to meet a few people in the city that have either had the surgery or are in the process of preparing to have it. Once you are in the program at the Victoria Hospital, they will give you the dates for the program. I hope this helps. Donna
