Hi I am new, and considering Mexico for my surgery.
Hi everyone, I am new to the forum, and due to the ridiculous waiting times in Manitoba am considering going to Mexico for Vertical Sleeve.
I am nervous, but excited about it too! I noticed another post of a gal considering mexico, and noticed that everyone that replied seemed to have a positive experience. Am looking forward to getting to know everyone...and right now am still in the planning phase, and I am considering Dr Ramirez.
Happy to have found this great supportive group!
Cindy
Welcome to the group. There are many of us that went to Mexico for surgery and all have had a positive experience as far as I know. We will try to help you with any questions you may have. I had the Duodenal switch procedure with Dr. Ponce de Leon in Tijauana. Many have gone for the sleeve there too. Barb.
Hi Cindy
I am also considering Mexico. I have been a member here for a long time but don't post much. After finding out that the waiting list is longer then I was initially told, I was devastated. I have done my homework and turned to Debra from Weight No More.
I would also like any feed back as I have no idea what procedure is best. I know it is not the lapband.
I went to mexico as well. Dr Ponce . Had a VSG. Great experience. I was actually in the MB program and tired of waiting as well as seeing lots and lots of complications ( I think there should be less now that the surgeons have more experience now )
There are only a couple drs I would stay away from. One is known for making odd shaped sleeves and used to use mesh . Not sure if she still does. The other is the cheapest and works out of a strip mall hospital.
Often it is cheaper going through the dr directly and not a coordinator . Dr Ponce is the same ( 5500 , I believe) Trish from WLS4betterlife lives down there and is great. Same price and way easier with her involved.
