Hi,

im just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat as i am with this whole journey! i have already attended my seminar, and had my three month appointment, and now i have to wait 6 more weeks until i have my last meeting witht he dietician and nurse and the work-out-gal (LOL). after that, my name will be put through to the surgeon. i already have my pre-op paperwork and a physical with my doctor booked for the end of april... so.. now that you have the back story, my main question is..

after they put ur name through to the surgeon, TYPICALLY, in Winnipeg, through the VICTORIA hospital, how long is the wait?

im just worried they will schedule it over my best friends wedding, and im the maid of honor.. i cant miss that.. and i would kind of like not to be in pain for the wedding.. (which is in August)

please comment if you have any insight on this situation :)

I have no clue as to how long the wait is and hope someone will answer your question. I would let them know about the upcoming wedding though. I just attended the informational seminar last week. I'm pretty much new at this. All the best to you and the upcoming wedding.

I am 4 weeks post-op and can tell you that while I was going through my pre-op stages I was also finishing up a Masters Degree and couldn't start the boost until my exam was over. I let everyone know that and was able to schedule my surgery after that. This is elective surgery, therefore you have the choice as to when you are ready and available.

I hope this helps?

hi, i meant that after your info was sent to the surgeon, how long did it take? like, would they have scheduled it sooner? or was it like 2-3 months time?

Hi and congrats on getting this far.the schedule changes based on how many surgeons they have.it had really slowed down for awhile due to dr hardy being in mat leave.you used to be able to call and let them know what you timeframe was.it has been so long since i had mine the program has changed completly.i was part of the pilot program and didnt have to jump through as many hoops as you do now.it was only 3 months from approval to surgery for me.barely enough time to wrap my head around the process.
