3 days Post-op

I'm fairly new to this, but I wanted to get on here and talk to those who have been through this... I had my Gastric Bypass Surgery done on Monday. I was sent home Tuesday afternoon. I have had no negative reactions to eating (or should I say drinking) anything. I have some pain, which I expect since I just had surgery. I find I want to lay down a lot, I'm tired, but at the same time I want to move. I have no feelings of hunger, but love broth! After the boost for 3 weeks, broth and jello tastes like heaven.

Just thought I'd go one here and see if anyone has any helpful advice for me moving forward?

Just take each day as it comes. Some days will be better than others for the first while in terms of tiredness. Your body is still recovering from surgery and dealing with fewer calories. REst when you need to but don't forget to move too. I was 4 months out yesterday and just had 2 weeks of extreme fatigue. I think it is still from surgery and I was pushing myself pretty hard with work and the gym. Feeling less tired this week.

I'll bet the nurse will be calling today or Monday and you can move on to yogurt! I was so happy to do that. I hardly ever feel hungry but know when I have forgotten to eat because I get loopy like the guys in the snickers commercials..

Good luck!

Congrats on the surgery! Take it slow! Lie down when you have to and walk in between to avoid any circulatory problems. Keep the blood flowing! Take it slow. Drink broth and when tolerated well move on slowly. You will slowly gain strength but don't overdo anything. I just hit 10 months post op yesterday and feel great! Best thing I ever did!
