disability question

as many of you know i have been off work since april 22 2013 due to undiagnosed abdominal pain.my question is has anyone applied for government disability before.i have the papers but am unsure about them.i am currently recieving disability insurance from my insurance.does that help me qualify.

If you are applying for the Canada Disability Pension, there is a portion that your doctor needs to fill out. The rest is your's to do.

Make sure your Dr is very thorough when explaining your medical issues. My hubby got approved once for 2 years but this year when he reapplied he was refused and he had to send in an appeal. If approved it will probably be for a certain time period and then you must reapply. We luckily only have had to apply once for our son as his disabilities are life long but I am wondering now that he is an adult if he will have to apply again.
