Kick start

I am now 8 months post op and have lost 80 pounds but since Christmas have hit a lull. I am staying the same weight. I have increased my minutes per day of exercise but haven't changed my eating habits. I will admit over Christmas I did eat some things I hadn't eaten since surgery. I am maintaining my 65-70 grams of protein a day and taking in about 1100-1200 calories a day. Any suggestions for a kick start to my metabolism? Thanks!

Dont rely on scale.it might not be moving but your measurements could be.if you are doing the same exercise your body gets used to those try adding new stuff to your routine.

and congrats on losing 80 lbs

Try changing your workout routine. Add something new or change the time when you workout.

Also you might want to eat some foods that are more metabolic to digest. (can't think of them right now but i know they exist) Are you getting enough rest? Drinking enough water?

Let us know what works.

I would up your protein to 100 grms a day and make sure you are getting your water in at least 10 cups a day. Change up your exercise and stay off the scale for a couple of weeks. You will be surprised when you do step on it. Over the course of weight loss I have had two times when I stalled out  for 6 weeks at a time. I went down to weighing myself onces a month and trusting that if I did everything I was supposed to the scale had no choice but to move. 207 lbs later the scale moved.

I agree - stay off the scale for a while.  On one of my plateaus, a wise friend told me scales are for fish and if you ain't a fishso you shouldn't be on one.  LOL.  I follow her advise every plateau....I stay away from the scale for a few weeks, keep exercising, logging food and water, water, water and then in a few weeks when you do step on VOILA!

Congrats on losing 80 pounds!  :)
