i am thinking about writing the health minister about the bariatric program offered here.I feel there are many shortcoming with the program and would like to see more options for everyone.i am unsure how to word it though.

i am wanting to discuss the following items.

dietary program within the hospitals for post op patients, councilling for bariatric patients.a place to meet for everyone within community on a monthly basis.

training for bariatric councilling and current program guidelines.

if you have suggestions please pm me

Good luck Sondra. Tread lightly. I have some opinions about how they do things here in Manitoba but I don't want to post all of them in an open forum.

But I will say this... imho the Minister should also hear from Manitoba bariatric patients that are not in the Manitoba bariatric surgery program. Also imho its time Manitoba Health adopted a community based, open access support program similar to Alberta Health's Weight Wise program.

I would be willing to meet with the Minister.

Definitely keep us post, Sondra.  I wish I had seen your post earlier this week.  I know that I'm feeling discouraged because it will be 4 years on the wait list this March.  There a things that I need to take responsibility to do, that I am letting fear of further rejection hold me back from.

So far i have only gotten the standard response thanking me for my email.i might sent my email to a couple people i know personally in the government or the opposition and see where that leads
