Hello all,i havent been on in forever as something was preventing me to see site, but seems to be fixed now.

I will give you an update as to whats happening with me:(

I am still dealing with the problems i had previously posted.i am off work now until January. My gp has a ct scan scheduled for this Wednesday ( hes doing more for me than any other dr)I am still waiting for appointment to see specialist.i am currently gluten free to see if that is part of problem.my gp has also requested a MRI to see if that will find problem.i am eating very little again as food is not my friend.i have good and bad days.i am also starting to get depressed as i am wondering if this is all in my head because no one can figure out what wrong.I eat gravol like candy for nausea.I am still on pretty strong pain meds to help deal with pain.I dont leave my house now for days at a time.Everything in my life is in a holding pattern as i never know what kind of day its going to be,and waiting for phone call about appt.

so thats my update. Sorry for it being so long

Sondra, very sorry to hear that you are having so many problems. I really hope that you get some answers from your upcoming tests. I'm glad your family Doctor is being so vigilent.

Thanks....its just so frustrating because i followed program to the letter, lost all my extra weight and now i am having these problems.I feel bad for posting this on here as it seems lately thats all i have to say.i dont want to scare pre ops away from this surgery because it has done so much for me even with the current problems i am having.I still feel that anyone who needs this surgery should have it even with the possible complications that are involved.

it has given me back my life and extended my life.I would not change my mind if given the choice.

so far the only good thing that has come of my current situation is that i have insurance to cover my wages if that wasnt there i would be totally screwed and would have to try and work even on meds as my sick benefits are done with EI.That would really scare me if i had to work on these meds as i drive for a living and i know if there was an accident that i would be on the hook for everything and my boss would not stick up for me :(

Hi Sondra, I am glad you have insurance to let you stay home and work on getting better.  This sure has been going on a long time, I hope the tests will finally show what is happening.  Keep us posted.  Hope you start feeling better soon.  Barb

I hope there is an answer and proper diagnosis soon, so you can be fixed and get back to your normal self.  This is a big bump in the road but you can handle it and I think it is a good thing for pre ops and new post ops to hear these things and to have a better understanding of some of the risks for complications, even years out.  Mind you I'm not saying this is a direct result of your WLS but it could be a contributing factor.  It ain't all a bed of roses, even for the ones with little or no complications.  Hang in there Sondra, we're all sending you the good vibe!

Well I had my CT scan yesterday. It hurt more than normal when they put the IV in.this was due to the type of ct scan that was ordered. They did a arterial ct scan.my gp is wondering if my major artery in my stomach has a blockage.the reason they are curious about this is because i have already had 1 stent put into my heart in 2008 so hes wondering if thats my current problem.i will have results in about a week.once i have more information i will let you guys know

Sending you love, Sondra.  I was just saying to Michelle last night that it's not fair that a person goes far to turn their life around and get healthy only to have major medical issues come up after you get your weight off.

Honestly i wasnt sure about posting this on here because i dont want to scare people away from surgery, but i also wanted people to know that there can be problems long after surgery.you have to be vigilant about your own health because no one know your body like you do.

with having said that i still do not regret the surgery in any way and would do it again.

my DH is now concerned about liver damage .someone we know was on the same painkiller for a year and now has liver damage.he had a byopsy yesterday.so DH wants me off meds as soon as we can find replacement for them.
