Finally!

So after a 2 hour wait at the surgeon's office, I finally have a date for surgery! November 13th is the day. So that means I am in Winnipeg on Monday for the preop diet session and start Boost on Wednesday.

So from orientation to surgery my wait time was 7 months. From original referral to surgery date it was 4 years less 3 months. But please remember that I didn't meet the criteria at the start of the program and had to wait until the critieria opened.

I am so happy that the day is almost here.

Thanks everyone! I was still kind of in shock when I wrote this yesterday but I think it  has sunk in now.

I just need to make plans for my son's care and I think everything else will fall in place. Because my hubby just had a heart attack a month ago, Dwayne is still pretty clingy to me so I want to make sure he is comfortable and feels safe. This will be the first time that I won't be home for a night that he can probably remember so that will disrupt his routine big time. I am hoping my Mom can come watch him but I still need back up for her as he can be a bit much for one person when they aren't used to dealing with him. Need to call respite and see if I can get a few extra hours for that week.
