My RNY - Progress
Let's see.
Because of the weight loss plan I was placed on (less input, more output, more thought) I've lost 34 lbs since March.
Its been 3 days since my surgery (Monday, Aug 12th at 7:30 am). I was out of the hospital after a single night's stay for observation, I was off pain meds the next night. I POOPED YESTERDAY (proof positive things are working), and I've gone for several lengthy walks outdoors. I'd say my progress is quite remarkable. I'll get up to my required 10,000 steps per day very soon.
I'm feeling stiff around the belly, like there's a tight belt around my centre. The laparoscopic entry points hurt like mosquito bites, but that's it. When i get full from, say, consuming 125-250 ml of broth in 30 minutes I feel a bit tense inside. It subsides but I remain full for quite a while. I haven't experienced dumping syndrome.
I think the 2 weeks of liquid-only prior to the surgery was the most valuable preparation. Sometime between Saturday and Monday I will make the transition from liquids to puree. That will be a big test. My quantity will not change. I see myself living my life eating 250 ml of high protein food an hour for the rest of my days.
So, all in all I am feeling rather fine.
""I see myself living my life eating 250 ml of high protein food an hour for the rest of my days. """
I am hoping that is a typo ... seriously I didn't eat that much every hour before the surgery.
