Anyone still waiting?

It seems to me like there was just a "batch" of people to get WLS all done around the same time, made me wonder if they possibly schedule them (the surgeries) in groups? I finally had my referral letter re-sent May 2nd (after passing my 6 month smoke free mark!) I know it hasn't been long but I'm so anxious for a reply!

Anyone else waiting to be accepted?

I know your excited and impatient but don't forget the most people who are having WLS aren't on this site posting.  They don't tell you at the MB Bariatric Program about this site.  Most of us found it by search engine or by word of mouth from a friend.  Sometimes it seems like weeks go by without someone having surgery, but don't fret, they are going on all the time.

Use this waiting time wisely to prepare yourself mentally and physically for the upcoming changes.  Start attending Meet and Greets, get on My Fitness Pal and start logging (it's so easy) talk to those who have "been there" and find out what you can be doing now to ensure your success.  The more effort a person puts in, the better result you'll have

CONGRATS ON THE NO SMOKING.  Thats awesome.  I had to use champix to quit, but it worked.  I am now almost 4 years smoke free.   I hope you get your reply soon.  Barb

I am still waiting. I had my orientation in April. My big 4 hour appointment with everyone is end July. I feel like I am slowly getting closer.

I am having my WLS on June 3.  There are people on this site that have recently or are having surgery this summer.  I was referred to this site by the the Bariatric Group.  They must have decided to tell people about the site.

Welcome to the Manitoba Forum!  There's a great bunch of people on here, as you will soon find out.  I'm almost in shock to hear the clinic is finally telling people about the OH site.   It's about time.  The original nutritionist with the program actually told me to stop reading from this site.  I would have been lost going through the WLS journey without it.  So much information and stories of inspiration.  Good luck tomorrow!   

Good luck with your surgery! I had mine 3 weeks ago on Monday! Feel good!
