This curious mind, wants to know

Hi!

Few questions.

I've hear so many different stories on when I'd be able to return to work.  I have a desk job, but do alot of getting up & down and climbing into RV Trailers, crawling on my knees inspecting floors etc.  When did you all return to work?

When can you return to normal 'recreational' activities?  Ok, I'll just say it... SEX.

What about doing laundry? Loading the dishwasher? Making the bed?  Stuff like that?

Any thing you can help me figure out would be awesome.

Thanks!

For myself, I took the max amount of sick time I could - 6 weeks. I could have gone back sooner but I had to put in for my time before the surgery and I didn't know how I would do. I too have a desk job and I could have gone back about 2-3 weeks out.

For the other stuff:
Laundry, right away but get someone to carry it for you
Dishes, sweeping, other small things I did within a few days, but take lots of rest stops, plan for everything to take a little longer as you will be slow moving and I would get dizzy.
Recreational activities - 6 days but not swinging from the chandeliers
. Surgery date OCTOBER 16th

Hi!

I'm only going to comment on the work question. I took 3 weeks off & wish I'd taken 4. I also have a desk job, but no crawling around inspecting floors! You can expect to be tired. If you can get 4 weeks or more, I'd take it.

i was going to say that I only took 2 weeks after gallbladder surgery and looking back I wish I had stayed home one more week. I  work in a school and pick up a student work with them for 20 min, then get another etc and I was very tired. Of course whether you have young children etc to look after will affect your recovery time as well.  I have a special needs child so I wasn't able to lay down after work or whenever and it was after supper before I could relax. I plan to take the 4 weeks when I have WLS surgery. The nurse mentioned at orientation that you need this time not only to heal but to learn to get your fluids and supplements etc in.

Awesome! Thanks! I know that everyone is different. So fingers crossed that I have no issues.

Let me start by saying I am PRE OP so take my advice with a tablespoon of salt.

I would recommend that you put off house wor****il you can have "recreational activities" without side effects   Then start back on house work slowly
