plastics

Wondering if anybody that has been for a plastics consult for tt, has been told they need flank excision also.( muffin top reduction)lol. Anyway, i saw dr ziesmann yesterday and was told i would need a flank excision as well as full tt. Flank excision $4200 and not covered by mb health. The reason i am curious is because i was one of the lower bmi patients pre op. I weighed 212 day of surgery, and am now 155. Cmon, flanks cant be that bad. I am thinking of going ahead with the tt, and leaving flanks for now, as i was under the impression they do lipo on them anyway. Anyway, he will send a claim to mb health to see if i qualify for partial coverage(panni). Then i guess i will decide from there. If coverage approved the tt will cost about $2700. Any thoughts or input bout flanks?????

Hmmm...my take is he is trying to get some more $$$. I had never even heard of this until reading your post! Did he give you a price for the full tummy tuck if Manitoba Health won't pay any of it?

No, not sure of price for full tt without partial coverage. Maybe someone who has been denied insurance could chime in with full cost

A friend of mine seen Dr. Ziesmann he is one of the best.  She did not pay anything because she was getting rashes under her stomach so I guess they thought it was medically needed.  What surgery did you have?

Hi there, i had the vsg done at the vic in june 2011. I was #53 of the pilot project. Very happy with my surg. But now time for some plastics. I got a quote from tijuana for the mommy makeover for $7500 tt, lipo, and breast augmentation but id rather get it done here if i could. If i cant get mb health to cover the panni portion of my tt i think i will be mexico bound, though. Dr z said he should get a response within 2 wks and i saw him yesterday so hopefully soon.

does that mean the flanks are $4200 PLUS the $2700 for the tummy tuck? that's pricey (not that i have any clue when it comes to these things). if it's INCLUDING the tummy tuck i'd be tempted to do it. i don't know if dr.z is in the habit of trying to upsell a person surgeries or if he just wants the best aesthetic result possible.

I think he wants the best aesthetic result. I communicate with him frequently through work. Im a nurse and see some of his post ops. I think he knows if i come away an unhappy camper, im always around to haunt him ;p im okay with a little jiggle on the sides though. Im certainly not looking for perfection, i am looking for normal. With this flank excision, the scar goes almost all the way around your body. As for your first question, yes $2700 for tt plus $4200 flanks. Tt only $2700 if im approved by mb health. If not, im
Not sure what the total cost is for the tt. I think if mb health denies it, i will hit tijuana. Guess its a case of " wait and see" ! As usual i will let you know when i hear

Hi
I am 10 months post op. I had the rny. I'm down 100lbs and I went to see a plastic surgeon back in sept already for some plastic quotes. I was only 3 months post op and not nearly at my goal and I got a letter from mb health that I was accepted for panni coverage. I want to get sx done ASAP and since I will be getting a full lower body lift, the part that mb health covers is not that much. Mb health only covers a mini tummy tuck. Have you priced out plastics in Mexico?

Hey, long time no hear. We should get a group of us together and head to Mexico. It is TOO $$ HERE. I need some work done too and it would be nice for a team of us to go, and we could likely get discounts for groups, I am told.

Hi Sherry, trust me, that is definitely my next move, if things dont pan out here. So far though, i have recieved gd news. Mb health will cover panni portion of my tummy tuck, leaving me with a bill of $2500 for full tt. I am seeing dr. Ziesmann again early june for another appt for a quote on breast aug. (They will do the tt and ba at the same time)He couldnt do tht at my prev. Appt because he has a computer program at his own clinic(vectra?) That uploads a pic of your beaver tails, and shows u exactly what they look like with dif types of implants. Size, shape etc. Once i get a quote on the breasts, i will know for sure if mexico will be more cost effective for me. They quoted me 7500 for mommy makeover at jerusalem hosp in tijuana. ( full tt, lipo, breasts) add airfare, as well as hotel for guest if you bring one. ( i figure approx $10,000 total)So if i can get the breasts done here for about 6500-7500 im in the same boat as mexico. So i will find out more after next appt. If anyone has been declined mb health coverage. Then mexico is definitely the way to go, without a doubt. I will keep u posted
