Wait times these days..

Hi guys,

I' had a look at few a months worth of threads but I'd like to have a more up-to-date  idea of what the wait times are like these days.

I was referred in May '12, just wondering what I can expect.

Well, not sure if this will help..but I was a Jan/12 referral, and got a call in January of this year that my turn had come to start the process. That means, the group session, then the surgeon, then the rest of the medical professionals you need to see. Would have been a few more months to a year Im sure.  Now that they have opened up the criteria to men, Im not sure if that will bump the times to a bit longer to accomodate them. From what I last read, it is still approx a two year wait (at least) from start to finish.

I was referred in October of 2011 and my surgery date just got scheduled for February 27!  It's a long time coming but worth the wait -   I'm so excited!

I was referred November 2011 and my surgery was just scheduled for February 25!! YAY!!

They just recently opened the program to men and upped the BMI limit, they are phoning previous referrals who didn't meet the criteria but now do so I believe the wait list will grow longer.

I talked to Amara a couple of weeks ago as I am one of those people who have been waiting for the criteria to open and she said they were calling people like me who were referred in 2010. My referral was Feb /11.  Not sure how many people would be on the waiting list before me...
