Excited!
I am starting to feel giddy!!
I have my 2 month follow up appointment with the nurse and dietitian on Feb 4th, and hopefully soon after will have a surgery date. If my timeline is the same as everybody else's time line, I assume my date should be mid March. woohoowoo
Why am I feeling so excited?
Pajama shopping of course!! I am going to by the most fluffy, comfortablest pj's I can find for my stay in the hospital. I know I wont be wearing them long - but I am going out with a bang! Also going to purchase a portable DVD player and the last season of Desperate Housewives (I am on vacation between walking breaks)!
Enjoy your day friends, Spring is insight
Congrats. You make a hospital stay sound like fun. LOL. I hope it is for you. Keep us posted.
Save your $$ and buy some comfty PJs for home. Use the hospital gown they give you (don't forget you will have an IV to work around) and you probably won't want ANYTHING touching your tummy for awhile (as in waist bands) Besides if you are barfy or spilly, it's better to do that on their stuff (my gown was well worn and VERY comfty) As to the DVD player, I guess it depends on how long you will be in the hospital. I was discharged about 24 hrs after surgery and really just wanted to rest between walks ( and of course sip sip sip lol) Expect a visit from the dietitian, nurse prac. and they will want to wash you up and give you meds, etc etc. There was never a dull moment. Although I could have really used a DVD at home after, had alot of time on my hands!
Netflix and a laptop would work great! hehehe
I found I hated the gown with a passion. For some reason I was super hot after surgery. I actually thought I had wet myself! I was soaking wet under my gown from sweat, and my hair was actually wet at the back. Never had an experience after surgery before. I was super hot the day after the surgery and the nurses would walk into my room ( in mexico and I had control over an a/c there) and shiver. It was so bizarre. I changed into my jammie bottoms and a tank top a couple hours after surgery and felt soooo much better in my own clothes. I would throw on a cardigan thingy for my walks. Something about wearing your own clothes makes you feel better and less sick imo.
The pj's at costco are awesome btw, I bought an XL and they were swimming on me. I then bought a large and they are still big ( I'm around a 12/14 now and I think a medium would work now. usually in an xl/large sizes so they are very roomy.
