Pre-op scheduled!

Hi everyone,

I posted last week about the follow up and wondered how strict they were about the weight loss. They were much more concerned about not seeing a gain and also seeing me implement as many changes as possible before the surgery. I lost a couple of pounds over Christmas so they were very happy with that and scheduled me for the pre-op session with the nutritionist on Feb 22nd. Yay! She set my goal weight, but I'd like to get lower than that. Her goal is still a number I haven't seen on the scale for about 20 years though, so I'll take it. :)

Surgery will be scheduled for sometime in March, we're just waiting for my doc to send in his paperwork and then everything is ready to go. I bought my vitamins last night and stocked up on some more Boost (it's on sale at Shoppers for $7.99).

Not too much longer now!

I hear you about the nut's goal. She set mine at 210 - again a weight that was small to me ( I'm 5'10) They set it as a % of excess weight loss . Something like 60-70 % ... it would be considered a success if I got there but I am now 10 lbs less now and still need to lose another 20-25 lbs.... I'm totally happy though... feel great and happy.

You must be getting very excited!!! The time will fly by between now and your surgery.

So just so I understand right, they are were more concerned with the overall success of your goals and not weight loss?

I have an appointment next Monday, they wanted me to loose 12 lbs but I wasn't able to manage it and I have been stressing out that my surgery would be postponed

......................KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON.................

Waiting for surgery date. HW 275

Yup, they just wanted to see a real effort and evidence of lifestyle changes, especially with exercise. They won't allow a gain though, so if you gain any, they'll ask you to lose it.

I was stressed over my appointment, too! I didn't eat breakfast that morning because I wanted the scale to be as low as possible. :) Some habits die harder than others.

You'll be fine. Just keep up with journaling your food, getting in your exercise and staying positive! Looks like we'll be on the loser's bench together!
