New Chapter in my life
Hey...it's been forever since I've posted. Life is good...weight's been stable since summer. Well that's a big fat lie...I just gained 4 pounds beause....I'm 13 weeks pregnant!!
We are overjoyed. Dr. Vergis gave us the green light in September and I got pregnant at the beginning of November.
I went to see the dietician at the Vic and had an hour long prenatal assessment. Sure enough, I'm not eating enough protein (she wants 70-80 grams a day, I'm FORCING down 50). I don't know how I'll manage that. The morning sickness (stupid, ridiculous term...should be 'all day, all night' sickness) has been pretty nasty. She'd also like me to increase my calorie intake....that is also going to be difficult.
The doc took my blood pressure last week...extremely low. I've been very dizzy and blacking out every time I stand up. So I also need to increase my fluid intake.
Soooo different from my other pregnancies...when I was 100 pounds heavier and told NOT to gain any weight and my blood pressure was so high, I had to be on bed rest.
Hopefully now that the first trimester is complete, I'll be able to eat and drink more.
She also mentioned she'd like to see me gain 15-25 pounds throughout the pregnancy. Well, I've gained 4 already so I doubt it'll be a problem.
I can't believe how much I'm showing already. With my other 2, I barely showed until month 6 or 7. Now all my size 6 and 8s are too tight...back into 10s. I'm going shopping this weekend for some cute maternity clothes because all of my old ones are 2x.
I'll try to keep you posted as baby grows. I can't make the meet and greets on saturdays...too nuts around here. Also, the Wed meetings at the vic don't work b/c my kids have a conflict every Wed.
I'd LOVE to see some of the 'oldies but goodies'. I miss you ladies. Maybe we can arrange something? Jackatar? Sista? Newfie? etc?
All the best!
WOW! Congratulations! It's interesting to hear the difference between a pregnancy at normal weight and at obese weight (not interesting enough to try it though lol) Your luck is endless because we have a meet and greet that might be doable for you. We are meeting on Feb 21st (a Thursday) so this might be something you can swing. You would be 17 weeks and probably needing some bigger clothes (life is so ironic sometimes haha). We'd all like to see your bump, those who are fertile and plan to prove it would love to pepper you with questions and we are hoping that there will be some "grand dames of bariatric surgery" there as well. We'll bring you some pickles and ice cream.
