Got my date!
I received my letter today and my surgery date is February 25!!
I leave early Saturday for my Caribbean cruise, get back on February 3, and have only 1 wee****il I start my pre-op boost diet. Time will fly by. I'm so excited but also nervous. Is anyone else going around this time? I really wish I could go to the meet and greet on the 21st now for sure, I have lots of questions. What am I going to eat/drink the first few days home? Where do I buy all the great protein stuff you all talk about on here? Can anyone share their food diaries for the first few days/weeks you were out so I can plan and make sure I have everything I need?
My pre-op appointment with the vic team is on Friday, hopefully they can help me answer some of these questions too but I'm sure since you've all been through or are going through it you have better answers.
Oh and has anyone seen boost on sale??? LOL
Congrats Angie, you will be on the loosers bench soon. I will let the vsg folks and rny folks chime in on the diet and protein drink stuff. Which surgery are you having? For the first while after surgery keep some of your favorite soups and yogurts around, homemade soup is better. Lots of folks like click protein powder, and when you are able to start eating solid food high protein is important. crab legs are very high in protein - I can get most of my daily intake of protein in one meal of crab legs 100 grams of protein for me. Later on (much later) pumpkin seeds are a great quick snack that is super high in protein. You will see protein is hard to keep up if you don't like protein shakes like me. LOL. My diet is a lot different than others on here mine is high fat, high protein, low carb. Good luck with your surgery and have a fun vacation. See you at the meet and greet. Barb
Congratulations!
I was talking to Amara today and she is calling people who are on the waiting list for higher BMI's from 2010 right now. Hoping that means I will get a call soon! My referral was Feb 2011..
I asked about taking the Craving Change program but I can't take it through the program until I have my first session/orientation. Does anyone know anyplace else I can take it? Amara said as long as I get a letter stating that I took the course, they would accept it.
Thanks, Karen
Hi Angie.
I have my diet on excel spreadsheets. If you want to share your email with me I can send it to you by email. I eventually stopped journaling on excel and went to my fitness pal. It's better now that I eat more normally but I found the excel was easier to track the amount of fluid and the amount of protein I was consuming. The spreadsheets changed and evolved as I went but should be easy to follow. And congratulations! Enjoy your cruise and get tanned before the surgery!
