Does anyone who's already had surgery want to share what a typical day of eating would be? Once you're into the soft food or just past that stage.

I've been talking to my hubby about the changes and he's wondering what it will be like after (mainly he wants to know if when I make supper for me if he'll want it too...lol)

Okay, here goes.  Hope others join in this, it's something I've wondering as well.

5:00 - up and at em, coffee with cream and sugar or a Click with a protein power ball or cheese string

6 - 7:15 - rise and shine cardio class or walking/eliptical/weight training

9:15 - breakfast at work, usually 1 egg with cheese whiz pack, sometimes porridge but LOTS of carbs so must work that into the rest of the day

11:30 - lunch - usually leftovers (2 oz of chicken or beef with gravey or 2 oz of ham,  3-4 carrot sticks, or chili (I make a batch and freeze containers to take, super easy.  I also add a scoop of beneprotein to the chili when I warm it up) or a small can of flavored tuna with 1 tbsp of lowfat mayo, maybe a pickle or two

2:30 - snack - cheese string, or Key Lime greek yogurt or 1/2 a pack of peanuts from the cafe if I forgot to bring something

5:00 - supper - 3-4 oz of dense protein (chicken, beef, ham) usually with some sauce, trying to get some dense veg in there (brocholli, brussel sprouts, carrots, etc - I try for 1/4 to 1/2 cup

8:00 - snack - a yogurt or cheese string or little pack of lowfat sliced meat or sometimes to be crazy I'll just have a fruit (mandarin orange, 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup grapes or blueberries, etc)

I have been suffering from some killer stomach reflux so I am struggling with not eating something to calm that.  I went to fill my script for Nexium but it's like $90/month, so the pharmacist is applying for some kind of special coverage...... hope to hear back from them soon cuz this heartburn sucks ..... it really does feel like hunger sometimes.

And that's a typical day - oh and usually get in 8 - 8 oz of water which has to be worked around the food!  exhausting lol

Oh and I record EVERYTHING on Myfitnesspal - everyday, everytime - I'm really scared to deviate from this at this point in my weight loss.  AND I only weigh myself once a week now - much better on my psyche (had a little craziness from my stall - lol - which is broken - yah and finally)

I am in the soft food phase and I don't feel hunger yet.  I get up and have breakfast of 1/4 cup plain oatmeal with 1/4 cup vanilla protein power.  I take calcium, B12, D, and multi vit at this time.  Coffee about 30-45 minutes after I finish eating.  I get some water in before lunch too.  Lunch I usually have a 1/2 cup soup, veggie type, with 1/4 cup plain protein power. Calcium and vit C.  Mid afternoon I have more water and 10oz skim milk with peanut butter chocolate protein powder.  Supper is 1/4 cup soft meat like ground turkey, chicken, etc, with 1/4 cup veggies and calcium.  evening I have a sugar free jello or pudding when I take my iron. Some things I make my hubby will eat but mostly I make his and we eat together.  I he doesn't like ground turkey so when I make that I have enough for 3 meals.  I have left overs and make him something or he has his own leftovers.  I made a sheppards pie one night and we both ate that.  I had a 1/2 cup of it total in a meal.  It was actually easy to mix in protein powder into my portion too.  Getting in lots of water a day is challenging.  I bought a Contego water bottle from Costco and it's 24 oz.  I'm up to finishing 2 full ones a day.

Good for you, water is hard to get in. Still for me some days are awesome but others really suck and I fight all day long to get it in. I use the Contego bottle to!  angry

I am not one to emulate most days. I'm like 10 months out now..... down 97 lbs.  I have some really bad habits and eat a fair amount of carbs these days.I'm 25 lbs away from my goal and it's tough. My capacity is larger than it was a few months ago. I drink Way too much coffee ... I'm an addict now.  I typically have a click in the morning. I make them with 1/2 water and 1/2 skim milk. I also add sf flavored syrup to it.  I drink this on my way to work. I usually stop for coffee a few hours after being at work. Have several cups with milk and sweetener

I also ( when I am good! ) make a bento box like breakfast/lunch for days I work. I will put raw veggies and  fruit ( my big one these days is cut up apples with the juice of an orange and lemon over top of it- weirdly good and they keep in the fridge quite awhile - great to go for a snack)  Cheese cubes, yogurt, cut up leftover protein from the night before or some tuna salad , a couple crackers or something a little bit " bad" as a treat... a don't do all of these - just a mix of them every day. . I tend to eat these throughout the day. I make sure this stuff is healthy and mostly veggies so the "grazing" isn't too bad.I also don't like stopping for food- although wendy's chili is a good option. I've even had a sandwich from safeway when I did a double shift. It took me all day but I ate 1/2 of it at lunch and 1/2 of it at supper.  I work out of my car and people's houses and stopping is tough sometimes.  Some days I tend not to eat other that maybe a yogurt and my click. I am not nearly as hungry during the day and my capacity is much much lower.  If I go out for coffee or breakfast with co workers or a friend on a day off I almost always have oatmeal with a small amount of sugar or sweetener. It sits well on my tummy.

For supper I have whatever we make. We usually have protein , carb ( usually potatoes or rice ) and veggie for supper . I tend to eat a couple spoons of the carb and about 2 oz of the meat and a few veggies. I sometimes will actually snack on cooked veggies ( sounds so weird to say that!)  meals recently were thai chicken over rice, chili, spaghetti squash and meat sauce, shrimp cooked in garlic butter, I tend to eat about 3/4 of a cup -1 cup tops depending on what they are( how dense/filling )

I will usually have a snack in the evening. It's a bit insane how much popcorn I can consume. Totally a slider food for me. I can eat 1/2 a bag of microwave popcorn in one sitting ( like 1/2 hour)  I love cucumbers and can totally eat an entire english cucumber while watching tv ( I love it in vinegar with salt) Sometimes I will have chips as a snack as well. My thought is I would rather eat real , full fat chips than some other sub that isn't as satisfying. I tend to buy pringles in the snack tubs and that limits me to one container and then I also have them fresh instead of a big bag that goes stale ( hahah- in pre wls days when would chips go stale!!>??)

Anyway I guess what I am trying to say is after a month or two- you will be eating pretty much what you tolerate.  I know for the first few months it is soft foods but after that you will just be concentrating on getting enough protein ( protein first and you will get and stay full longer ) and really it is what you make of it. I have never really made special meals for the family except in the first few stages... ( when I was eating mushies) I still go out to eat on a regular basis ( just tend to order smaller amounts of food or look at what works as leftovers the next day!)  Appetizers work well often as a meal. Soups , etc... I've even had a cheeseburger at mcd's once or twice in a pinch. ( bread doesn't agree with me the best - It's starting to get better in the last couple months )

A couple of you mentioned 'CLICK'. What is that? (I'm REALLY hoping its not the canned meat.) Ew.
