Follow up appointment
I have met with the team, surgeons and finished the craving change program. I have a follow up appt. with the team mid-January and we are looking to book my surgery in mid-end February. Christmas took a toll on me, first my fridge broke and I had to go without one for a few days which meant more eating out and then Christmas and then I pulled a muscle in my head (LOL - I know how that sounds but that's what the doctor told me and my head hurts soo bad).
Anyway, one of my goals for my follow up appointment was to lose 14 pounds. I lost a few but then over the past week and half I gained them back. I have my new fridge and am eating better already but with this head pain I just can't exercise. Is there anything you can suggest for me to do with my sore head to help lose weight without exercise? The doctor said it should fix itself in a few more days to a week but that leaves me to lose 14 pounds in only 16 days. Does anyone know what they will say/do if I don't lose the 14 pounds? Will they push me back further until I do lose it?
I agree with Sondra..the head pain is not something to take lightly and they should understand. If not, whenever I followed Atkins induction for 2 weeks, and really strict with it, I always lost at least 1 pound a day with very little exercise.Congrats though on getting to this stage..you are almost there!

DO you mean that this was your two month follow up meeting? At the end of November I meet with the nurse, dietitian, psychologist, and keinologist. I am going to finish the craving changes program at the end of January, and then have my two month follow up begining of February. How much longer after this will it take me for me to meet with the surgeon, in your opinion.
As far as the weight gain went, the nurse told me it wasn't the only thing they focus on, they want to see how you did with the goals they gave you as well. You could do a week or two of the boost diet before you go into your follow up appointment. It would be great practice for the pre-op diet :) Or you could eat 1200 cals a day and go for an hour walk a day, that could knock some of the weight off as well. And focus on proteins and minimalize the carbs.
Thanks for the responses, I don't want to do the boost or shakes as I want to make sure I'm making the best possible choices and am able to stick with them before the surgery so that I will be more prepared for afterwards. I will eat as healthy as possible and just move as much as I can and hope for the best. My head is much better already, just getting a few headaches, so I am now able to up my exercise.
