De-lurking

I'm officially coming-out of lurkdom.
I've posted once or twice in the past year or so but I guess it's time to introduce myself. I'll be having RNY surgery in a couple of months with Dr Vergis and I'm both thrilled and terrified. I was originally going to ask for VSG but changed my mind after the info session.
Anyone going to Craving Change in January?
Look forward to talking to you all over the coming months.

Hello. If you wouldn't mind can you post your referral date, group meeting date, etc. It is just me wondering how the wait list is going. Possibly give me hope to continue to wait.

My referral letter from the team was dated 31 Oct 2011, I went to the group meeting in Oct '12, met with the team on my own on November 20, met with surgeon on Dec 5. I have a pre-surgical appt with my doctor this month and a follow-up appointment with the team on Jan 22. Once they receive all the paperwork and all my bloodwork, etc, the surgery will be scheduled. I was told to expect surgery by March at the latest if all the paperwork comes in a timely fashion.

I know it sounds like a long time. Just hold out for the group meeting. Once that happens, things start to move very quickly and I'm finding I'm really just needing this time to really wrap my brain around the reality of all this actually happening. Start implementing as many changes as you can. There is hope. Lots of hope. Can you imagine what your life will be like with this one thing under control? It's going to be hard work, but imagine what it will be like to have an entire group of people cheering for your success and working with you, walking with you every step of the way to help and encourage you to make it happen! Just imagine.

You can do it!! And what a great payoff there will be at the end of your wait.
