Birth Control Pills

Somebody told me that the pills isn't effective after surgery (it won't be absorbed correctly),

Did anybody hear this from a doctor?

I can't answer about BC pill but I take thyroid and was told by the nurse that it is small enough that I don't have to cru**** any more, it will absorb.  Talk to a pharmacist or the nurse at the centre.

That is incorrect.  Dr. Vergis did my surgery and was adament that I take BC pills after since I'm only 33.  The Bariatric clinic nurses will also stress after surgery that you get on the pill if your of child bearing years.  My surgery was August 2, 2012 and I've been taking the pill since 2 weeks post-op and I'm definatley not pregnant!  LOL.

On another note, I can't wait to get off them next year so the hubby and I can get preggo!
