O.k All you lurkers, you know who you are, this one is for you. I , am or should say was a lurker but have since come out of the closet.Yesterday, as a matter of fact was my first actual contact with others of like interest. I went to my first meet and greet,( granted it was a small group),and found it to be, truly; a great experience. I would highly recommend that everyone should go to at least one. It proves that you are not alone, many have walked this path and truly understand what you are going thru. In,, this group were veterans with 2 years under their belt, and some of us with only a month. I learnt so much, that i've already forgotten half of what was all talked about, except " choking your  chicken". Thank you group members for being so welcoming and Lurkers "come out ,come out where ever you are" . Looking forward to meeting the big group.

It was wonderful to meet y'all!

I really enjoyed being introduced to all your beautiful faces in person and thanks for being so patient with all the "newbie" questions! I'm sure I will have a thousand more as time goes on. It’s a reassuring feeling to know you are not alone on this journey. You girls are an inspiration!

I look forward to connecting with you all again!

I am sorry I missed this meet and greet.  To avoid choking your chicken, you should lube up with some gravy, the finger licking good kind.  lol   I will resume back to lurking now till the next meet and greet.

Hey girls, nice to have met you last night and glad you had a good experience. I too took a long time before I went to my first meeting and starting posting here. my first meeting was a great experience also and since then, I can't wait until there is another meet and greet or coffee get together. they are so positive, encouraging , not to mention, this is a great group of women, who just want to share their experiences and help anyone else they can along their journeys. veryone who attends has something to share and it is all so helpful....you can't get this kind of help in any book out their. And, the clothes swap thing is great too as that can get really expensive to buy new every month. I would like to say thank you to everyone I have met since my first meeting, and I look forward to meeting many more of you out there who are still lurking!!!! Come Out, it will be worth the drive!!! Hi. My name is Angie and I am a lurker....

Haha.  I am just starting the process, have been to the orientation, meeting with the surgeon, nurse and dietician.  I meet the other 2 next week and start the craving change sessions then too.  Since everything is starting to move quicker now I have been checking the boards more often and would love to meet up with some of you who are going through it or have done it but I am on the shy side until I get to know people so it's harder for me.  If you don't mind that then please let me know when the next M&G is and I'll try to get the courage to come.

Hi Angie:

Usually they post it on this board somewhere, the next time they have a Meet and Greet. I lurked on this board from April until just the other day. When i finally met some of the other ladies on here in person, felt like i already knew them. I was very glad that i went and you will be to. Looking forward to meeting you. I am 4 weeks out of surgery.
