am i nuts?

 

Curious.  When I was referred I was told men were not accepted yet.  But I just got the call for my group session and now I see men are getting in before me???  Is it just me or something is wrong here?

 

Hmmm....Although the men weren't being accepted,  I think their names were put on the waiting list for when the criteria opened up.  That would be my guess.  I believe I read somewhere in this forum that those who initially didn't meet the criteria (men or women with higher BMI's) would be slotted in when the criteria opened up.  They would not be put to the end of the waiting list. 

Yeah, I think you are right Lori. I think the men that were referred were initially not eligible, and now they have opened up the criteria to include men, so they are slotting them in. These men have likely been on the waiting list for the past 2 years and all of us have gone ahead of them. These men that have waited so long are equally as needy, so I guess the waiting list will be fair for all now. Sorry ladies if you are still waiting to hear something...the wait might be a bit longer now.

can anyone tell me if there is any meetings near portage la prairie?

 

Hi, I am from Portage la Prairie as well. There used to be another lady on this site from here as well, but haven't seen her on in a long time. Perhaps we could car pool or meet here together for support.

i think it would be a good idea to start a group here in portage  there seems to be a lot of people who have had the surgery and i am sure that there is lots who are interested .

that might be a good idea. I would still like to go to one in Winnipeg but with hubby working 2 jobs, it just never works out. I am hoping after Christmas when my daughter is not working so much that I can  make it to one on a Saturday.

 

Not sure I am going to get my referral this month, between sinus infections and stomach issues my weight has been up and down. But if not this month then hopefully in December. Going to keep going until those 8 lbs are gone...
