I did some recruiting today.

I was at the Tache Bariatric Clinic today and while I was waiting for my appts and then bloodwork, I overheard 2 girls who both had had surgery and were in both places waiting too. So when we all sat down, we all were in the same corner so I asked them each about what surgeries they had and when. One of them had surgery 2 years ago, has had complications and going again for further surgery. She is not happy with her surgery and definitely needs some encouragement on the positive things the surgery has done for her and not focus on the problems that came from it. The other had surgery 2 weeks before me in May. BUT! To my surprise, neither of them had heard about this OH website, neither of them received anything from the Vic education program and neither have even been to Vic other than to have their surgery. SO, I told both of them to call the Vic and get on their mailing list for the education classes and told both of them to sign up on this website so they can get some support and also hear about the meet and greets. I told Dr. Hardy also, to tell people about this website so they can hear
about our meet and greets because they are so helpful, supportive and fun and if
you are lucky enough you get to go home with a new wardrobe. Hopefully, they will check this website out, we will hear from them, and they can get a little positive enforcements...go girls! Barb C ( bc waiting)

That's great to hear!  I'm sure there are many falling through the cracks! The more people know, the better off they will be and everyone at the meet and greet were so nice and helpful!  Cheers! Elizabeth.

I think we should all make up little cards with the obesity help website and the Victoria phone # and pass them out everywhere we go as I have heard so many say "I never heard about it, or I don't know anything about it". let's all get the word out that there is help and support out there, their not all alone!

Hey BC, I was at the Tache clinic today too, early this morning. When I got there there was only 1 other person in the waiting room, although when I came out there were quite a few. I took a look around and didnt see anyone I recognized from the Vic meetings or our group. Too bad I missed you.
