Follow up?
Yes, they are really pricey. I'm using what I have and switching to something else. So silly question....are Visalus shakes just protein shakes? I was assuming there's some sort of weight loss component to them. I was worried about the taste, but I love these. I add some frozen berries, a spoon of fat-free/sugar-free yogurt, skim milk, and ice. Not chalky at all. I can't do chalky shakes. I'll check out the Costco brand. I'm going there today as a matter of fact.
I second guessed the surgery once I started the shakes and started losing weight. I thought, wow, maybe this would work for me, and I don't need the surgery after all! But like you, I know that there is no way I could do it long term.
I'm working hard though, because before I booked the surgery I booked an all-inclusive to ***** Cana for November. Ugh..everything happens at once.
I have my GP do my blood work ( gave him the list I have of which vites to check and stuff) I have had some issues with Vitamin D , Calcium being low . My GP is managing it.
He was capable of checking my incision if needed ( I didn't have any issues). I obviously had no complications - Went to Dr Ponce de Leon and was up walking around and shopping on the day they let me out of the hospital. Loved the experience as well.
I flew with united and all the cheaper flights were first thing in the morning out of san diego and I wasn't wanting to cross the border at 4 am lol. I second Dianne's suggestion of getting a hotel in San Deigo for the night. Makes it much nicer. My sister and I ( I went with her 2 months after my surgery for her surgery) ended up going to the outlet malls. It might have been a bit too much for her ( we took the trolley and then a cab back)
We stayed at hotels that offered free shuttles to the airport ( we actually saved enough by booking a cheaper flight early in the day to pay the hotel )
Best decision ever! I'm 90+ lbs down in about 7 months. I feel incredible.
Hi Rainyone,
My ex had RNY surgery in 2003 and had the open procedure done. He went through so much with pain, and then later on he got a hernia, and then another hernia. I can't believe that you were up shopping a couple of days later!
You must feel incredible! I am soooo looking forward to that feeling.
