So I lose all this weight and now I get gout??? Now more red meat, I guess I should drink more water. Busy seriously, I am mad!!! And in pain!! Bad combo!!!

I feel like I have an old man's disease. And that's just irritates me since I am a woman, and not old and have lost weight and not supposed to get these things.

Rant over.
Referal weight 265, surgery date weight 243, ticker is all post op loss so add 22 to ticker loss

I got Gout in March this year...apparenlty having a Hot Dog and a Beer at the Jets game is what did me in. I was pissed....I always thought it was the old mans disease too, but wrong!!

I went on Medication for it until it cleared up, then my Dr. told me if I feel it flaring up again to take 2 Aleve twice a day and it will subside....he was right. I while after I had a steak and mushrooms and yup, flared up....popped the Aleve and it worked after 1/2 an hour.
So, now (I'm still pre-surgery) I watch the meat and fungal veggie intake...no more beer and I was eating cherries when they were in season as apparently they're good for gout too.

I'll feel like an old person all over again when I start the pre-op diet of Boost, LOL !!!

good luck!!
