Good news!
So I finally got to talk to Amara this morning about where I fit into the lists if I move from the one for women who don't meet the criteria to the onw for women eligible for surgery. She said that as soon as she gets an updated weight from the Dr reflecting a 47 BMI I will be placed in the system She even said if I met my goal my the end of October, she could possible fit me into the orientation session in November. I don't think I will quite be there but hopefully by the end of NOvember. This news may well be the incentive I need to get those 8 lbs gone....
Needless to say I was a bucket of tears while driving to Winnipeg for my son's appointment and got home too late to share the news with my bestie, so I turned to you ladies who will know how I feel.

Karen, will and determination will get you there. 3 years ago I had a BMI of 46.9. Which was almost too high to have surgery. Scared that if I gained any more I would be rejected, I joined the gym and starting diet and exercising. I started off with aquacise then started doing all the machines at the gym. When I met with Dr. Hardy in January, my BMI was down to 43.5. But even more surprising, is by the time I was going for my surgery, 6 months later, I had dropped even more weight and my BMI was down to 35!!! I was afraid they wouldn't even do surgery on me by the time I was supposed to be having it. BUT, because I have been overweight my whole life ( since age 2) and have dieted, lost and regained my whole life also, and was determined to loose it and keep it off this time for good, I was still able to have the VSG. Today, my BMI is 27.6. I still have 25 more pounds to go to be at goal. I NEVER THOUGHT I WOUOD GET HERE! BUT HERE I AM. It has been a very long struggle, but well worth it. Join an aqua class and push yourself to go..that's how I started, as the weight starts coming off, you will be even ,ore determined and will push yourself even more!! Come to the meet and greet. Good
luck. Barb C.

That is great news, you will be on the list soon. Congrats before you know it you will be on the loosers bench -- well you kind of are now LOL
Thanks everyone, I knew if anyone would know how I am feeling it would be you ladies who have also waited and had surgery.
I'm going to keep on plugging along. I know I need to up my exercise but after a very Wiggly day yesterday this Mom is going to relax. The day of The Wiggles started at 5 am yesterday and we didn't get home from the concert until 9:30. By the time I got pics loaded so Dwayne could share them with his classmates today it was almost midnight.

Thanks Michelle, my understanding is that I will get in pretty quickly as Amara said they are trying to fit people like me in with others with the same referral dates. I think most of the women that had around the same date have already had surgery.
For now I am trying to make arrangements to get weighed in at the Dr's once a wee****il I hit my goal so I can get my updated info in as quickly as possible. I'm letting myself believe that this is finally going to happen in the very near future...
