Sleeve or bypass? Pros and cons?
I went with the sleeve because I felt all I needed was the restriction and not the malabsorbtion. RNY has a bit better stats because of the malabsorbtion... it gives a bit of a boost in terms of not being able to absorb all of your calories for the first few years ( as well as not absorbing all your vitamins as well)
I liked that my excess stomach was removed. I didn't like a blind part of my stomach sitting there. Some people find that it is removed a negative. It also reduced the gherlin so possibly less hunger. You don't have the dumping with the sleeve. Could be a pro or a con.
I liked that I have a normal functioning pyloric valve. Rny is better in terms of resolving type 2 diabetes though. Rny has restrictions in terms of taking nsaids ( like advil , aleve etc) sleeve usually doesn't ( still not the best pain killer to take first though)
Either one is good. Just depends on the person.

its a personal choice.i chose the RNY as i felt that the success rate was better.i do not regret my decision.i have lost 130 lbs off all of my meds and if given the choice i would choose it again.i like that i can only eat a certain amount and no sugar.although around holidays its hard but i remember how i got here in the first place and why i chose to have the surgery.good luck with which ever surgery you choose
