Got a surgery date!

that seems so much easier!  It's nice to see the program is making things better instead of harder.  I have to try one of these Boost thingys.

 The "2" being Jillian and Dr. Scott....I see them together apparently. I was told to be prepared for a 2 hour appointment. I'll be going online to look for Boost coupons now, LOL !!!!

I said earlier it was any type of Boost but it is Boost Diabetic although I am sure you can buy that anywheres too!
Tamma did you meet the other 2 already? When I went I met all 4 of them and they told me I would be out of there by 12 but I didn't leave until 4!  Be prepared for a long day but they were all great!

 I see the Nut and the Pscyh on the 24th. Amara said I'd be there from 10 - 12noon. I'll let work know I may not be returning that day....I have their full support to take whatever time off I need. I'll bring water, a snack and a book, just in case.

Which 4 did you meet? 

I am so excited for you, it's so close....too bad I didn't have a date then too...we could have been roomies, LOL !!!

I met the nurse, dietitian, kinesiologist and the psychologist.  It is great that they are all at one place and they were all so friendly.Hopefully you'll at least be close to my surgery date and we can help each other out along the way for the next few months!  It seems to go pretty fast once you get in there and meet them all.  Were you going to check out the meet and greet on Oct. 30?

Candy Girl and Tammi T - - may I ask you how long your wait was from when you got referred by your family doctor until your surgery date?

I was referred from my family doctor Sept. 15/11 was accepted on Oct. 31/11, group session was on June 13th,  surgeon Sept. 21,  met the crew at the Vic on Oct. 2. 

Okay - - so once you got your letter of acceptance it was about a year until your surgery date - - that's not as long as I had thought as most people are saying 18 months to 2 years.  I got my acceptance letter on May 24th so it gives me some hope that I should be hearing something more in the near future.

 I was referred in Sept. 2011, Accepted Oct 31st, 2011. Group session May 4th, 2012. Surgeon consult Sep 26th, 2012..Barium Swallow Oct 11, 2012 and meeting with the Nut. and the Psych. on Oct. 24th...no official surgery date yet, grrr !!! There was some kind of mix up at Dr. Andrew's office that delayed me getting the nut and psych appointment, oh well !

But still pretty good - - gives me hope that I will hear something in the next few months about a group session.  Doesn't it just kind of feel like life is on hold?  Like lots of things you want to do are "waiting" until you have your surgery and you get rid of this weight?  Or is that just me?
