Hi Everyone.....haven't been on here much lately but do stalk this site and read everyone's posts.

I was just wondering if anyone has had any issues with their gallbladder since surgery?  A few times a while back I had a severe pain just between my ribs but went away. It has happened a few times over the weekend and each time I was in so much pain I just wanted to roll into a ball on the floor and cry.  It seems to happen after I eat and I'm not sure if it something I should be super concerned about or wait till I go to my appointment next week.

Thanks ladies in advance

Do you recall what you ate prior to the attacks?  I had my gall bladder out about 10 years ago.  Anything fried or greasy would bring on the attacks.  They were awful.  I remember being at work for one of the first attacks.  I called Health Links because I had never experienced such intense pain and I thought I was having a heart attack.  Child birth was less painful!   During another attack I swear I passed out the pain was so bad.  I truly feel for you.   Be mindful of what your eating in the coming week and should you get another attack I wouldn't hesitate to see a doctor prior to your appointment.

Gallbladder problems are quite common after weightloss surgery.

Food and drink items that are high in fat grams cause your liver to pump out more bile and thus causing the stones and/or sludge become active.(that is my medical lingo)
You can have sludge, stones and a malfunctioning gallbladder that all cause pain. The Pain is the worst pain you will ever experience and wish on someone else!!

I had multiple stones measuring upto 2.5cm in my duct.  Mine was removed during my pregnancy back in 2006 at 30 weeks gestation.

Watch your fat grams!!  Get it checked by a doctor or at least call the Centre and speak to someone there.  You could also check on the main forum for information too.

Here is some that I found.

Thanks so much ladies for the info.  I have called the centre but would not be able to be seen till next Monday but am seeing dr Andrew next Thursday so will just wait till then. I eat so healthy/clean and exercise daily so this has freaked me out a bit that something is wrong all of a sudden.  : (
