Plus Size Auction Wars
We were talking about the facebook auction site. Great place to buy and sell plus sized clothes.
It basically works like this. You take a picture of your item you are auctioning. Say a dress. You would write up a blurb about it including, size, start bid, auction end time ( 48 hours after you post it - can be less but not more ) and pick up neighbourhood. I will often meet in other areas or even deliver since I am running around in the city anyway. People bid in increments of at least 50 cents ( so if you start at $5 it would go 5, 5.50, 6 etc) After the end of the auction you post the winner and after 48 hours or pick up of the item you remove the listing.
The rules and stuff are listed on the site http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/297544763642940/
You request to join and bid away. Apparently end of the month more people have money and things go higher. Some things go better - I personally notice smaller sizes go higher- more bidders I guess.
If you don't want to deal with the hassle . One of the admins does a consignment service. Her name is Patricia on there. She will deal with posting , pick up etc. She takes 25 % of the sales and it's totally worth it imo.
