VSG vs RNY
I got to choose as well, I went with the RNY (best choice in my life of late); & I get most of my vitamins at Costco.
I can't think of any cons...my pros are that I've been off my diabetic meds since I started the pre-op diet & haven't had any issues whatsoever since, I work out daily (run/bike/bootcamp dvds). I have way more energy now & I am physically stronger than I ever was in my entire life :D

I choose the VSG. I wanted a normally functioning stomach but smaller. I like that I have a pyloric valve. I liked the fact that the gherlin was drastically reduced with VSG - very little hunger. I didn't like the malabsorbtion of the RNY. I have read that the vitamin malabsorbtion lasts forever and but the calorie malabsorbtion doesn't last more than a couple years.
For me - it was a matter of reducing my v olume of food. I was a volume eater. Not a huge sweets eater. Can't rely on dumping as a deterant. I didn't like the idea of dumping either.
I just take my vitamins ( I use the 55 + centrum. I get my vitamin d3 at target in the usa now - I like taking 5000 units a day in one pill since mine is too low. b12 I got at popeyes, )

VSG on 04/30/12
Like Rainyone, I wanted a fully functioning stomach with valves. I didn't want the malabsorption issues on top of IBS. My eating problem is that I didn't want to miss anything - had to try everything so it was a volume eating problem - the VSG still allows me to try all types of food, just very little. The dumping also scared me. Haven't had a problem with the VSG because dumping happens MUCH less frequently. VSG also has a smaller complication rate, and a quick healing rate, so those were definitely factors in my decision.
Vitamins: silver centrum (55+) from Walmart, with gummy multis on some days because they do taste better but they are missing iron and several nutrients - so I actually mix up my vitamins every few days for variety.
