Acceptance?
Hi all!!
Yep, I'm new and not very forum savvy, but I've researched this to death and it's time to get real people support and advice!
I was accepted into the program Oct 2011 as I just made the cut (BMI of 47). Had the first group meeting in May of 2012 and since then have lost 28lbs and BMI is now 42. I see Dr. Andrew at the end of this month and was told this is when I find out I whether or not I would be accepted for surgery. This part freaks me out because I have no clue what I could be doing that would get me refused for surgery.....any words of advice/thoughts!! Thanks!!

PLease don't worry. If you have been accepted into the program and have your meeting with the surgeon scheduled you are in! At this point, the only reason they would refuse you is if they discover some serious last minute medical issue.
The meeting with the surgeon is primarily a chance to discuss which of the procedures you want. Then you meet with a psychologist to make sure that you aren't psychotic - LOL! )I actually found the session with her helpful.) Then you meet with the nutritionist so you know what you have to eat pre/post surgery.
The fact that you have lost weight prior to surgery means that you are a superstar. They will all be thrilled!
Good Luck & Welcome to the Forum,
Tanya

Thank you Tanya!!
I've decided I want the VSG as I believe I'm most suited for it . I've been a member of My Fitness Pal since May and have been faithful to logging my food and exercise intake, (good or bad) to help prep myself for the before (optifast) and after surgery.
I'm actually more excited now than before!! Although my teenager my think I'm crazy at times, I'd like to think I'm good to go in that department!
I'm now looking forward to the next step, and ultimately the next phase of my life!!
