At four months out .....

I say absolutely, go for it. You should feel just fine. Have you decided if you're having RNY or VSG? I only have experience with the VSG obviously, but there would have been no reason for me not to go somewhere at that point. Grab the deal!!!

HW 270 (Sept 2011); surgery weight 236 (Feb 6, 2012); current 167 (103 lb lost); goal set by nutritionist 148 (ha ha!!). Vertical sleeve gastrectomy at Obesity Control Center (Dr. Ariel Ortiz), Tijuana, MX. Self-pay, self-referral, 4-week wait. Abdominoplasty Aug 10, 2013 (Dr. K. Dolynchuk, Winnipeg - self-pay)
Let me put it to you this way....I went snowmobiling with my hubby driving(he is a DAREDEVIL) at about 4 weeks out. I was a little sore but it was soooo doable. I barely ate anything though, so I brought protein shakes and bottles water. You'll be much farther out and eating and drinking much better than I was at 4 weeks.
I think a hot holiday at 4 mos out would be spetacular and awesome, you"ll be down a good amount of weight by then too!! WHOOHOO!! I say, BOOK IT!!

Totally. Unless you have crazy complications . I'm 5 months out this weekend. I can do anything. OI have way more energy. Should be interesting to take a holiday somewhere nice , having lost weight.
Best part is you will have a little more flexibility with eating at 4 months vs 2 months. I found some foods really hard to digest up until recently. Much easier to grab stuff on the go.
But then again I was flying 4 days after surgery, shopping and getting around just fine. I went back to work after 3 weeks, and while tired did good.

thanks girls, I trust your opinions so Cabos here we come! although I think the all inclusive thing will be a bit of a waste on me this time lol...certainly won't be drinking my weight in booze this trip. I'm not sure how much i will have lost but I imagine my current bathing suits might get swept away in the waves...... might have to look for sales now...... lol

Go for it, I am jealous. I just had my 3 month anniversary this week for the sleeve and I can eat absolutely anything and quite a bit of it at that. I am actually surprised at how much I can eat, I thought it would be a lot less. I am eating between 1000 and 1200 calories a day now which is what Laura and Dr. Andrew both recommended to me. Yes, get a smaller bathing suit . You'll probably be down at least 3 sizes at 4 months out...What a lot to look forward to...new body and trip..yeah!

Here's my own personal experience. At only 6 WEEKS out I left on a 3 week holiday that included 1 week of Disney with 2 small kids and only my husband to help. I was ok and I was super worried, worried enough i was going to cancel my surgery date. I'm glad I didnt. Plus, I'm the one that was puking multiple times a week and I was still ok to go. Don't worry! I know easier said than done...Go & enjoy!
