Question Time

 Hi All,
It is great to see all the positive results of those of you on the losers bench!
I understand here they want you to have two weeks of Optifast shakes before the surgery, is Slimfast similar? Where do I get Optifast and how much do I need to buy? Still looking into going to Mexico.

You can find Optifast or Medifast on line. Sometimes the girls that have upcoming surgeries get together and order atthe same time to help with shipping fees.

I just ordered my Optifast  last week and it is by precription only .  You get it from the NUT at your consultation and fax it in or you can give your credit card # to Laura and she will order it for you.  It is $159.60 for two weeks worth of shakes.  This seems to be a pretty strict pre op regime compared to some so I would check with your Mexico surgeon on what they require.  I'm pretty sure it was 3 days of water and yogurt for a couple of my friends that went.  My understanding of the two weeks is to shrink your liver, making easier access to your stomach.

I also think I am going to be one of the last patients going through the old system at St. B and not sure how they are going to handle stuff through the new Victoria program.

I went through the program here  and then got sick of waiting and went to mexico. I had ordered the optifast through the nut and still have some of it. It isn't that bad compared to a lot of protein shakes imo I supposed after 2 weeks I would be pretty sick of it lol.

The Dr I saw in Mexico had me eat yogurt and water for 3 days pre op and then 12 hours of fasting the day of .
