Protein shakes

I have been doing alot of experimenting with protein shakes for after the big day. At first I didn't care for the Premier Protein shakes from cost****hocolate was all they had when I was theIre) on their own, they are gross (jmho) but I put them in a blender with abour 4 ice cubes and 1/2 a frozen banana and WOW! what a difference. I had to stop myself from using up all my shakes! lol. They were about $25 ish for a case of 30 and they have 30 grams of protiens per container.
I have also tried different kinds of vanilla shakes but find they have that "protein-y" taste, It reminds me of milk starting to go sour. So I blended them up again with ice cubes made from left over coffee and a little skim milk and that made ahuge difference. I've also done the Mio trick to flavor them with ice cubes and a little skim milk. I really hope my sleeve is going to like cold things.
I think the best protein drink I have tried though is the Clik, a coffee flavored powdered mix. I did mine with milk and ice and it tasted just like a tim horton's ice cap, to me anyway. They only problem is that you have to order it from the states and they won't deliver it to Canada.
Some say if you go to the right Popeye's (not sure which one), that they will make some up for you to try before you buy so you don't waste your money.

I use the BioX that you buy from Popeye's and find it has the least protein taste to me anyway. It is $44 for about 40 servings has no carbs, no fat and 30 grms of protein a shake. It is a Whey Isolate the chocolate is good, the strawberry/banana is awesome, creamsicle is good and the cookies and cream are to die for LOL.
Good luck with your search - everyone's taste buds are so different. I know I can't stand the Kaizen powders or should I say they can't stand me.

Hi
I don't mind the Six Star ones, chocolate and strawberry. ( I say I "don't mind" them because since surgery I really don't like any protein shakes. Be forwarned -- after the surgery your tastes change dramatically for weeks/months.) The package is red and black. They're pretty easy to find (WalMart and Superstore; sometimes on sale at Superstore, too). They're the cheapest ones I've found. I think I paid about $26 for the 885 g container, 39 g/serving, so about $1.18/serving. They have 25 g of protein per serving.
The Premier Protein ones Granny mentioned have the most protein per serving of any I've seen. They're easy, premixed and portable. They're nice and thick, too, almost like a milkshake.
Just remember to watch that whatever you choose is fairly low in carbohydrates. Some of the ones I've seen for body builders, etc. are sky-high.
I'm with Granny - most of the vanilla ones I've tried are gross, although you could use them as a base and add flavoured sugar-free syrups or something like Crystal Lite to them if you wanted something fruity. (Tried that, was okay, but not great.)
Everyone's tastes are very different and you really have to experiment, unfortunately.
I bought several different protein powders from Meyers Drugstore (corner of William & Isabel) in their division called Muscles by Meyers. http://www.musclesbymeyers.com/ Their prices are fairly reasonable compared to other places for the same products. They gave me several sample packages of different ones to try when I asked.
Oooooh...... http://www.musclesbymeyers.com/product_info.php?cPath=30&pro ducts_id=1355
I haven't seen these before. Check out the flavours! Cinnamon Roll, Banana Perfection, Cookies & Cream, Chocolate Peanut Butter (it's good; I've had it before) & the usual ones. Also saw others that are fruit-flavoured.
The nice thing about this site is you can see how much they cost without going to the store. They also have free shipping if you purchase a certain amount. (Granny, since you're out of town, maybe good for you?) (No, I don't work there or own part of the company! I've had good, friendly, helpful service there the few times I've been in the store.)

Click is by far the best! I tried Chike and it was ok. One of the better proteins but not as good as click though.
Shipping is cheap too. My last order was 2 tubs of click and I got a flat rate of 2.99.
If you use the link up top- you can get $10 off your order:-)
