2 weeks post surgery!
Well I'm 2 and a half weeks post surgery and I'm feeling better and better each day!
I'm down 19 lbs since coming home from the hospital! Woohoo:)
I went to my GP yesterday because I was having some dizzy spells due to my low blood pressure. ( who would have ever thought me with a low BP). So he decreased my BP med
in half for 2 weeks and then I can go off of them all together!
I'm already noticing changes in my clothes, rings & even my shoes, haha!
Still sturggling with getting my protein in but I know it will come slowly but surely!
Thought I would just share this small but oh so exciting change!

Hey Lindsey! Sounds like you're doing great! Since we're pretty much on the same time-line, I just wanted to see what kind of things you were eating now...if you don't mind sharing (helps me with ideas). I'm mostly eating cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, laughing cow cheese and homemade shakes.
I've been feeling okay, but I do get tired in the afternoons, I've been able to get out and do some school shopping with my kids but boy do I drag my feet by the end of it.
Take care!

Hey Rosebutt,
I'm eating similar things, cottage cheese, yogurt(although I'm not crazy about the greek
yogurt texture, way too thick for my liking). I'm also having cream of wheat or oatmeal in
the morning with half a scoop of protein powder. I've also tried tuna with half fat mayo, canned
turkey which is a really good protein source. My grandma made me borscht, which is so tasty and naturally high in iron, I also add a scoop of portein powder with a teaspoon of sour cream. Soooo Yummy!
Today I even had a quarter of a homemade hamburger patty and cut it into tiny pieces and just chewed chewed chewed. I haven't tried the laughing cow, but I will have to soon.
I also tried a click sample today it tasted so good compared to my other shakes. It's like a coffee shake, if you like coffee you'll love click!
I just can't wait to eat a salad, I'm really missing my tomatoes and cucumbers!
Thats really all about it. What about your food choices, anything you can suggest trying?

HI again...
I use the greek yogourt in my shakes so you don't really notice the texture....I don't like cream of wheat and I have yet to figure out how to enjoy the oatmeal. I really enjoy the scrambled egg now and I add a bit of cheese to it. Also, for the greek yogourt, I add no sugar added strawberry fruit spread to it, makes it sweeter and softer. It's good.
I haven't tried Click yet but I did order Mocha Click online. Should get it soon. I'm like you...I really miss veggies, especially with all these garden veggies coming to us left and right. I ate a pear yesterday, peeled it and cut it in small cubes...was good to eat something else but mush!! I bought peaches in own juice today so I'm going to try that, also going to try mashed yams (the thing with veggies and fruit is that I don't get any protein in!)
Unfortunately, that's all I have for now...I'm going to start trying stuff like chili, shepard's pie, etc...I really can't wait to get out of this phase!
Wishing you well and sharing is appreciated anytime! It helps!!
Thanks

I'm just a few days behind you guys - back at work today!
Anyone else cold? Never thought I'd utter those words....
I'm lucky - love the Greek yogurt, which is helpful with its protein count. I've been doing Salmon, Trout, Tuna - as long as it has some moisture / sauce it goes down well!
Had homemade coconut shrimp last night for the first time since surgery - nummy!! A couple tsps of vanilla greek yogurt with a bit of shrimp ****tail sauce for that dip - it was going to be plain greek yogurt but I accidently bought the wrong one. Still tasty!
I've done chili a couple of times. And I bought some of the little tuna cans that come in different flavours - going to try those over the next couple of days. I'm so happy to have flavor again!!
I'm still doing one RTD shake each day to help up protein, Premier from Costco - it has 30g protein and tastes like chocolate milk.
I'll try anything I can add the benefibre to!!! Still a bit of an issue....
Hi Rosebutt
I don't think being cold has anything to do with low iron. It seems to be quite a common comment/complaint from most people who have had weight loss surgery. I think the surgery must change our metabolism somehow. I'm usually sweating in the summer and dread the hot weather, but not this year. The only problem is my hubby ISN'T cold!!
