I'm going...I RSVP'd on Friday.
It should be interesting to see both old and new faces. It's always so surreal while sitting in the waiting room at the surgeon's office like I did today. Scanning the other people in the room and wondering if they are bariatric patients....and if they are then why the heck aren't they on this OH website...lol.

Hey Kjmollyo....you've lost 110 lbs since January??? That's amazing!
I'm almost 2 weeks post-op...do you have any insights on how you are feeling now and how things have been going for you? Does it really get easier? Would you be willing to share photos?
I hope you don't mind my asking...I just like to hear about others success...it keeps me motivated and on track..gives me a vision of what's up to come.
Thanks

I'll be there, but I have to say that I don't like the theme. "10 most common mistakes weight loss patients make". It is so negative. Who wants to go and learn about mistakes? I would like to learn how to succeed! LOL!
Seriously though, there is an underlying judgment there which states that if we don't succeed, it is all our fault and not theirs. The truth is we would be much more likely to succeed if they provided more support post-op. I am about 1.5 years out and have received no useful post-op care or advice except what I have gone out and found on my own. The nutritionist was no help and all the surgeons did was check my incision sites.
I am glad that they are now having a support group but I hope that they are truly respectful of us and where we are on our personal journeys.

Darn, I was really wanting to attend this so I could meet all of you and put names and faces together, but, unfortunately, I will be out of town so can't make it. I hope that there will be notes taken and then maybe someone can post them or email them to me directly. I see the M&G is now Sept 15, hopefully I can make that one and catch up on everything. Barb C.
