Free meeting room for M & G

I think I found us a good meeting room at a library in winnipeg. We would be allowed 4 free meetings per year (we are non-profit) offering a service. more meetings we would have to pay for. the library is open on saturdays ten till 5 pm and till 9pm on tue wed and thur. it has free parking (parking lot) we would have to apply for non profit status but i see we allready qualify. let me know what you guys think and I will apply for it. Sir William Stephanson library you can check it out on the wpg 311 website under libraries and room rentals. Check it out Barb

Is Sir William Stephenson the only room available out of all the libraries, or why did you choose that particular one, just wondering? Otherwise, I think this is a great option until the Victoria decides to give us free space. If there are other rooms available at other libraries also, we can use 1 library 4 times and then move to another library and use it 4 times it sounds like. Maybe if there are enough people at the Sept 5th meeting that is going to be at the Victoria Bariatric Clinic, you can all discuss it. I won't be able to make that meeting unfortunately. Barb C

The reason I chose Sir William is because there are only 3 libraries that are open on saturdays one you have to pay for the other didn't have enough parking. Most libraries have meeting rooms some are small some are huge. this one just seemed to fit our needs best. open later till 9 pm most close at 8:30pm and it had lots of parking(free) not street parking. We would be able to have 4 meetings per year (1 each season )and any more after that we have to pay for it doesn't matter which library. The Millenium is not free at all. I think we should book only the 4 meetings to start with because the meetings at the vic will still happen just anyone outside there program cannot attend. the folks from the vic program would be having alot of meet and greets to attend. This Meet and Greet is open to anyone. If we have more meet and greets they are not that expensive around 60 dollars or so.(depends on length of time)

Thank you so much Barb for doing the leg work to find the library. I think it's a great idea and a great place to hold M&G's. Of course, in terms of distance, there is no way any location that is chosen can work for everybody. But if people really want to attend I'm sure they'll make every effort to be there.
Keewatin is actually pretty central when you think about it . If you think about people coming from all the corners of the city , it's not bad! ( never mind stonewall, Morris, etc)
I suspect the ones the Vic does will be more informative and less socializing and I think both are good . It's not just us Mexicans not being allowed to attend but also the out of province people. ( lots of Alberta peeps)
