Chinese for lunch....pouch no likey!
Well I have been doing so well with eating out lately that I thought I could handle chinese food for a work lunch today. Well not so good. I tried a tiny bit of white rice...not bad...then I tried some chicken with veggies and noodles, NOT GOOD. It tasted fine and a few bites went down really well. Then the pain started. I moved around in my seat until I got a tiny burp to come to the surface. Then the pain got worse and worse. Had to excuse myself and made it to the bathroom in time to get out a bit of foam and the last bite of food. I am thinking it was a combination of not chewing well enough and too greasy. Fortyfive minutes later and I am feeling much better. Strike chinese off the list for awhile if not for always.
It's probably the grease and the MSG...plus the chicken they use is awful...full of cartilage and various chicken parts and it's not really 'pure' chicken. You'd have to chew it a thousand times before it was smooth enough to eat.
I tried Chinese with the same reaction. Try asking for it with out MSG maybe? And avoid anything breaded or deep fried. I find that even one bite of something fried gives me nausea.
I really really miss Chinese food (well honestly, all take-out)...but I have re-discovered a love for SUSHI!!! I can eat it with out any problems.

I LOVVVVVE sushi but haven't had it since surgery. I've had bits of rice and it seems fine. I'm not sure if it would be easy to chew a sushi roll enough ....
Remember sushi isn't always raw fish! a lot of sushi is basically cooked or vegetarian items rolled in rice and nori( like a seaweed- yummy. My favorite is tempura shrimp , cucumber and sauce in rice. A dynamyte roll. mmmmmm
sashimi is the raw fish people think of . I imagine it would go down super easily since there isn't any rice and is high grade fish... usually very tender.
I've had chinese food once or twice since surgery and it seems ok to me. I usually just have a bit of honey garlic veal, and mixed veggies. I let everyone else order and just pick and nibble lol.

I have had chinese food when I was about a month out of surgery. I was fine. had sweet and sour pork, beef with vegies and almonds, and honey garlic breaded pork. I couldn't eat the beef it was too tough. I find some times food doesn't digest as quickly as I think it should. My diet says to eat a little every 3 hours, but lots of times I still feel full and can only get a bite in. That shrimp and cucumber roll sounds good rainy.
