How often do you weigh yourself?
Just curious . Im pretty much a daily weigher. I have the aria scale which uploads my scale to my fitbit account and I can look at patterns . Oddly enough because I know it is recording it , I don't fuss about my weight ups and downs as much .
I find I don't change my weight on here or myfitnespal until I have seen a weight for at least a few days ( I was 220.2 today but will probably be up to 221 or222 again tomorrow . I find I stay the same weight for a bunch of days and then drop and hover around the new weight Again .
Just curious if you weigh just weekly, monthly or daily ? Do you record the weight weekly but take it daily?
Ive heard so many conflicting ideas about weigh ins - I know it is whatever works for each person but I am just curious . One thing I heard was often people who maintain are suggested to weigh daily and they adjust what they eat based on gains and losses.... Other people say if you fixate too much on daily ups and downs that you aren't looking at the big picture and focus on water weight etc . Hell some people don't weigh in at all and go by how their clothes fit !

I am a daily weigher, and I know the docs say not to but for me it works. I don't adjust my eating patterns based on the scale. I do have a pattern. I hover at a weight for a few days and go .5 - 1 lb up, then I have a 1-2 lb drop then it fluctuates again for a few days. I record any downward changes and wait out the small upward blips. It helps get me out of bed in the mornings .... going to weigh in and see how things are going.

I get on the scale almost daily, (curious), BUT ONLY record my weight once a week, on Saturday morning, and whatever it is, it is and that's what gets put in my log. It will fluctuate up and down during the week depending on how much water I have consumed and of course what I have eaten or how much I have exercised so I try to adjust doing more, eating less as needed. If I don't drink my water, the scale is up?? Go figure! I am on day 57 of my sleeve and have consistently lost 1 to 2 1/2 pounds every week, no stalls. Even though it is coming off slowly, I am very happy with the results. Barb C.
I weigh myself pretty much every day too. It's something I look forward to each morning...hoping that the scale has gone down! If it hasn't, I'm not devastated or anything. I also have similar fluctuation as you, Rainyone, up or down .2 or .4 lb for several days, then lose a few pounds, then repeat.
I don't remember if I was told anything about how often to weigh. I only record my weight when it's actually gone down. If it's pretty much the same or gone up a bit, I don't bother. It's on a general downward trend and that's what's important.
I have found (very oddly to me) that when we've been at our trailer at the lake and I have eaten all kinds of crap (ie, more carbs, sugar, chips, a couple of glasses of wine) I actually have lost weight when I've expected to have gained. We had a pot luck party at the campground last week and I was sure I would have gained a pound or two and was actually down a pound on Monday morning. Since then, I haven't lost anything, just the bouncing up & down by a bit every day. I don't eat as many carbs at home generally, but I sometimes wonder if I should eat a bit more and keep track of what I eat and what happens.
I'm happy with what I'm losing. At 10 months (5 before surgery/5 after surgery) I'm down 81 lb, so around 1.5-2 lb a week on average.

I weigh myself practically everyday. I want to see my progres the moment it happens! LOL! Like most people above, I don't concern myself with small increases. If I am on track, then I know it isn't a "true" gain, unless I have been exercising a lot and gaining muscle. I wait until my weight drops again and then mark any net losses on my ticker.
Some days I am upset by the lack of progress, but I would rather know that not know. Besides, it keeps me honest.
