Any fellow CF members out there that had WLS? I'm full of questions in regards to the process

I'm a 16 year Canadian Forces member who  has chosen to go ahead with WLS, after multipible deployments in Afghan, Dubai UAE and Haiti I'm finally in a static posting and am ready to make this change in my life. I'm wondering if any pre or post op Mil mbrs can share there experence and there timeframe. 

I'm seriously considering self pay.


Any help would be great

I am not CF but I've had WLS in Winnipeg. Right now for men you have to ge a referal to go out of town. The clinic in town at the moment only accepts women. There is the weight wise program in Alberta (I think) but the waiting list is like 3-4 years or something like that. If you can afford self pay, go do it. This surgery changes your life. There are a few women on here who have gone to Mexico with great sucess.

 I am not in the cf, but I did self pay my sugery in mexico. Things went very well and I am losing at a steady pace
