I know this is a touchy subject for all of us but I seen on here awhile back
about cream for a rash under the tummy fold and I was at the Health Centre
this morning and this is the information the homecare nurse said would heal it.

1. She said DO NOT keep it moist as it only prolongs healing keep it dry.

2. Use a blow dryer on cool to dry it out or lay on the bed or on your sofa
holding up your fold with a fan blowing on you to dry it up.

3. Use corn starch or Gold Bond powder to absorb moisture and dry it up.

4. Put a towel or gause pads under your fold to keep it dry.

5. Keep it clean

6. The most important thing is to keep it dry.

This is a really hard thing to deal with and it is painful.  I have had it several
times to the point that it bleeds. I have always kept mine dry but I wanted to
confirm this before I put it on here.

I hope this help as in this heat we are bound to get it.

Take care, Robynjoy

NGD- you crack me up.

Yep - totally agree. you want to keep it dry. Barriere cream or diaper rash cream can help as well. They form .... well a barrier from the wetness and prevents issues.

You all crack me up GrannyD!!!

My imagination is going wild with all of the crazy responses.

It sure gives a new meaning to hanging around and a new use for duct tape.

Way to go  I think a bunch of you could own a comedy club.

Thanks for putting a smile on my face.

Thank you for the info.. I started using a diaper rash cream and it seems to be helping but i also put a piece of material under my belly to help it stay dry as well.. but the cream has been healing it at least it's not as painful. the washing with soap is what is a killer.... i cry from that pain... it's nice ot know that i'm not the only one with this issue...
thank you ladies

Lanacane works for me. I agree that keeping it dry is the best prevention, but if I get a rash I need the cream to take away the pain and heal the skin.
