One Month Update
Wow.. a month has flown by already! I am able to eat solid foods in VERY limited quantities, am still struggling with liquids, but managing and am getting on with my life!! I am down 19 lbs since surgery as of this morning and down 40 lbs from highest weight when I was referred. Feeling great, still struggling a little bit with energy, but I think that will get better when I get better at fluids. I have been stuck at this weight for almost 2 weeks, and this morning the scale moved a pound so I think my stall may be over! I will be happy with 10lbs a month from here on out but would be THRILLED with more. I am trying to take a realistic approach to everything and will be adding exercise in about 2 weeks, want to make sure that I am fully recovered, and I hope that the dissolving stitches will be gone by then, I can still feel them and they are getting irritating, but nothing major. Can't wait to go through this summer and this journey of weight loss! I am actually excited this year to have people over and go in the pool and splash around with the kids!

Wow, you are doing great at the weight loss. I had my sleeve the week after you, May 29 th. I lost only 8 pounds pre op and only 2 pounds per week since, only another 6 pounds since having the surgery..I sure thought it would come off quicker than that. I can barely get 64 ounces of water in daily...I get to start soft food next week, wow I can't wait...I am really tired of this pureed stuff! Good luck, Barb C
It does get better ... I think for me it was 3 weeks before I hit my protein goals and water goals. There are still days where I just don't feel like drinking or eating much ( I thought today was one of those days but I just managed 3 oz of stir fry yay! , it was a struggle to drink my coffee and click this morning - odd eh?)
You didn't have as much to lose in the first place so the weight will come off a little slower. I keep expecting a stall but other than one week where I didn' t lose , no stalls, I am down 60 lbs in just under 3 months. It rocks! The three week stall is very very common. You might find you seem smaller , losing inches and not weight. Then Whooosshhh weight loss.

Rainyone, yeah thanks. Yes I was 100 pounds over weight to start back in October when I got accepted. I started dieting and exercising way back then and from October to May I managed to loose 40 pounds on my own, then with the pre op diet another 10, so I was 1/2 way to my goal before I even had surgery. The nice thing is, with a smaller stomach, this time I will be able to keep it off FOREVER. I am so looking forward to being SMALL, HEALTHY AND PAIN FREE for the FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE! I am off most of my pain meds, cholesterol pills and high blood pressure pills already. And I rarely use my sleep apnea machine anymore, ( need to take it i for re- adjustment as it is blowing too much now for me). All in all, life is BETTER. Both my Doctor and I can't be Happier! Justmest, as far as the energy for me it was at about 4 - 4 1/2 weeks when I felt like I had turned a corner and I was getting back to more normal energy levels. I still have the odd day when I want to nap mid afternoon ( usually after a poor night of sleep ) but for the most part I noticed a huge difference. I was excited to go back to aquasize but I am not too sure now. The skin on my legs is loosening up and the fat on my thighs is looking pretty funky...not sure the gals at the pool are ready to see that yet! I have gone up 2 lbs again after this weekend....happpened a couple of weeks ago too. But I was eating in restaurants for 2 days so I think it is the salt. It is almost gone now but I think I am averaging around 2 lbs a week and am still struggling with getting the water in. I hope that picks up once I get back to some regular exercise. I see Dr. Andrew and the NUT on Wednesday. I too still have two pesky, pokey stitches that I hope go away soon.
You sound like you're doing really well. Keep up the good work!
