Couple questions preop/postop

Hi everyone,

I also am getting close to my date which makes things a little more real and now I'm starting to have some questions....

During the preop two week diet....when did you take the shakes?  Breakfast, lunch, dinner and before bed??

My surgery is at 7:45 in the morning...do I stay over that night?  I need to figure things with kids and husband...

Are their any guidelines for returning to physical activity after the surgery?  I have a trainer helping me out right now and she will help me afterwards but I have no idea how to start or when.

Last question!  I have a wedding to attend exactly one month after surgery...should I worry about the meal or should I make a special request?

Thank you very much for your help in advance.  I also have been on the site since the fall and have really profited from all your insights.  I feel like I would like to come to a M&G but am also very shy....

hi Rosebutt,
welcome to the boards.i have a couple of questions for you.
are you having it done here in manitoba.if so then yes you will have to stay usually 2 nights.
for the shakes i did mine breakfast lunch and dinner.
i was unable to return to work for the full six weeks but that was the type of job i had.
as for exercise see how you feel and discuss it with the drs.as for the wedding.you could ask for a special meal but when i was at gatherings and such i just ate what i was able to then i was done.if you know what the meal will be i would try it before the wedding to see if your new stomach likes it.i still can not eat some of my favorite foods and im over a year out.
i would make sure that your new stomach likes the foods because there is nothing worse than having something not agree with you out in public.

we would love to see you at the next meet and greet.
i hope my answers help

Hi newfie99999!  Thanks for the answers..it is very helpful.  I am getting it done here in Manitoba, nice and close.

Would you want to tell me a bit more about your experience post op??  Best decision ever?  Which surgery? weight loss journey??

I'm not sure how to message someone directly but I'm very interested on how people feel afterwards...

Thanks so much and I think I will go to the next M&G if its possible.
