4 Weeks Post Op
Well it's 4 weeks post op for me now and I feel like I have turned a corner these past couple of days. Protein shake for breakfast is the best bet for me right now, makes my tummy happy. Lunch is either fish or chicken with a bit of veg or soft cheese and a few wheat thins. Supper is fish, chicken or ground meat with a cooked veg and I snack on yogurt or cheese and fruit. I have more energy and people are starting to say I look more rested and healthier. I still poop out by about 8or 9 PM and go to bed earlier than I used to but I am sleeping better than before surgery. I can do stairs like a big girl now, instead on one at a time as my knees are feeling so much better. Having a blast finding old clothes in the closet that I didn't remember I had hung on to...nothing better than shopping in your own closet! Can't wait to see Dr. Andrew in a couple of weeks to see if he can remove the stitches that are poking out of 2 of my incision spots. Have been using miracle oil on my incisions and they are healing really well, hoping for very little scarring. One major bruise is still visible around the largest incision, but it is fading too.
Still can't go near coffee but I have found David's Teas in Grant Park Plaza and WOW am I loving tea now. Newest fav is Cranberry Pear! Great iced too. Hey if I can't do espresso I can be a tea snob!

Woot Woot!! Glad to hear you're doing so well. I can totally relate to the knee thing. Prior to surgery one of my knees really bothered me when doing the stairs but now I rarely notice it. As for those stitches poking through your incisions, I had one too. Then one day it was gone..but it took about eight weeks or so to disolve on it's own.
I am having snacks most days. I almost always have one around 4:00 so I don't get too hungry as supper often isn't until 7:00 for us. I usually have some soft cheese and a few wheat thins and a bit of fruit or some veg if I didn't get much veg in at lunch. Sometimes just some yogurt. Depending on how late supper was, if I am still up 3-4 hours after supper I will have some pudding or jello with flavourless beneprotein added to it.
