I drank a beer about 2.5 months after my surgery.  I did not have any issues, sipped it slow but I did feel it!  I would highly suggest you try out your first drink at home to see how it effects you.  I have read some reports that say 1 drink is the equivelent of 4 after surgery (I think that is a little excessive).  Most people I have spoken to say they feel it much quicker so keep water around as that will help "sober" you back up if you get tipsy (unless that is the effect you are going for)

I didn't have my first drin****il I was 8 months out. I found it affected me faster than I remembered. I don't know if it is because I didn't drink for almost 2 years before surgery due to my diabetes and my tolerance levels may be lower than they once were.

I didn't have a drin****il my wedding weekend too Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!!!
