So glad to be home!

Well, that has been an unbelievable week! Got home last night about 9:30 and got to sleep in my own bed!!! Going to take today to get my fluids in and connect with the family. Just like Justmest, I did not have one issue or concern about being in Mexico for my surgery. From being picked up at the airport, to the hospital and surgeons and the whole staff, to the border crossing, everything went off smoothy and no hangups anywhere.

Reflecting on my week, I had alot of nauseau but nothing for pain. I even told them at one point that I had no pain so I wouldn't need the pain meds. They held off for awhile and then as a precaution for being released wanted me to have something so I gave in. Just to be on the safe side. During the day  my husband would leave the hospital and walk over to Starbucks or a coffee shop and watch people and have breakfast, then come back and help me with whatever I needed. Day 3 for me was odd as my drain literally fell out on the floor as I was doing my walking. Kinda had me worried but Dr. Ponce checked over my stomach and I did my leak test with an xray. I just had to drink the yucky blue crap and then stand in front of an xray machine. Was neat to see the liquid going down my sleeve. They gave me a cd of it so I can give it to my doctor so she can see my new stomach.

The last day there, Trish took us out and we did a bit of souvenir shopping, had some wonderful tortilla soup broth and then said goodbye to Trish and all the staff. Also, a big plus, it seems like Trish has special privileges as well and wherever she took us, she had parking spots or connections that brought us whatever wanted. We didnt have to walk far or wait long for anything.
Spent one night in San Diego and took a bus tour around the hot spots and stopped so my husband could see the navel fleet that was in. Our flight was very early the next morning plus we had a 4 hour layover in Edmonton so I knew the day would be loooooong. I took that opportunity to walk, sip and curl up on a comfy lounge chair and sleep. Enjoyed a popsicle on the drive home and now am sitting here Sunday morning  trying to figure out what I do next, lol.

I still can't believe the week Ive just had but I know things are going to be amazing from this point on. I did hop on the scale last night just to see how much the flying and gas etc would affect the body but I was actually down 12 pounds from the highest point I was when I saw my doctor a couple of months ago. I am only going to weigh myself once a month and that will be so I dont drive myself crazy.

I am soooo glad to be home!

Thanks everyone..and Teasha you have nothing to be worried about. It will be smooth sailing for you just like us..no worries at all. I didnt notice any other coordinators around the hospital but then again I wasnt really looking. Im sure Trish would have pointed out the others..everyone there is so great that you will get help from anyone if you need it. There were doctors and such that werent mine but who would answer my basic question and then pass it on to my "team". Very professional.
