Reflections of the past 6 months of my life.

 On December 12, 2011  I saw my GP and asked for a referral for Weight Loss Surgery. I had been reading here and done and incredible amount of research online and was able to see my Dr, and ask with a good conscience to be referred.  I was shocked and surprised and thrilled when my Dr said that he would be happy to refer me.  

Since that day, I have researched even further, made it out to a meet and greet to and met some fantastic people.  I had the opportunity to meet Madeline in her home town while traveling on business, and have the incredible goof fortune of being able to go to Mexico to have surgery on the same day as her.   

In just 7 days, I will be leaving for Mexico to be sleeved and start my new life.  I am not apprehensive, I am not afraid, I don't think that I have made a bad decison, I am insanely excited. I cannot wait to start my recovery, for my blood pressure to be back under control, for my knees to stop being strained, to be able to run again and join my kids in their active lives. 

I cannot wait to get on that plane next Monday Morning, I can't wait to have this surgery and get my life back the way it should be.  I feel so fortunate today, and next Mother's Day is going to be different, I am going to be at the park with my kids, enjoying being active again and not sitting here pissed off that my husband didn't get me a cake for Mother's Day.. lol 

good post justmest!  It sounds like you are READY and STEADY.  Just think, in two weeks, you'll be home, on the couch, healing and thinking "whew, glad that's over with!"   You'll be a rock star with your sleeve

 Hope your trip goes well and surgery too.  I will be going to Dr. Ponce de leon at INT hospital also in June.  please let us know how it goes, I am nervous about going but plan to anyway.  Madeline have a safe and successful trip too.  I wish there was a meet and greet before my surgery.  i would feel better meeting some folks that have been to Mexico for surgery.   (Barb)

I am also going to Dr Ponce in June on the 4th actually, I can hardly wait.

 I will let you know how it all goes!  We could try to arrange for a meet and greeet when I am back and Before you go.. Might be nice. Rainy one also went to dr ponce and it was great to see her at the meet and greet :)

I hear ya 100% Justmest..its going to be amazing....and who needs cake when a smaller size jean will feel so much better! .I can hardly wait to burn some of these old clothes and just feel healthier all around. Im not nervous either..just waiting for this week to be over ( of course work is panicing and trying to make sure I have EVERYTHING done) sheesh! It was so great to meet you and now we have each other to go through this experience with..its gong to be 28-30 degrees in tijuana!!!

You know what? I haven't even thought about the weather in Tijuana, haha... what a wonderful thought! Just something else to add to the excitement! 
Work is driving me crazy too! I have SO much to make sure is done before I go, so it's going to be a crazy week for me as well!

Too right Madeline...I was just thinking of that quote...."Nothing tastes as good as thin feels!"  Who needs cake when you can fit your butt into jeans that don't start with a 2 in the size and have no XXX"s behind it!  I will be on the recovery couch thinking of you both and I know you will do great!
